The years 2010-2012 were tumultuous for Collin Daniels. At the start, his punk rock band embarked on their third US tour. It was their biggest success to date, with the group playing the best live shows of their career and crowds growing in every town. However, the band members were unable to agree on a future direction for the band and decided to call it quits. At the same time, Daniels' long-term relationship with his artist girlfriend ended.

The dual loss took its toll on Daniels. But true to his never-say-die punk spirit, he put his belongings in storage, traded in his Brooklyn apartment for a used tango red Honda Civic, and hit the road with little other than his guitar and a bunch of songs.

From New York to San Francisco, Daniels played self-promoted solo shows, sometimes even showing up unannounced at an open mic night, persuading the organizers to let him play a few more songs than the two or three normally allowed. Daniels gained strength and courage in his abilities as a solo songwriter and performer as music-lovers across the U.S. praised his live performances. Finally, in Northern California, after weeks of wearing the many hats of driver, booking agent, tour manager and performer, Daniels packed his guitar away in the trunk of his car and spent the rest of the trip breathing in the sights and sounds of America.

Returning to his adopted home of New York City, brimming with inspiration from the trip, Daniels delved deep into his own emotional well, and hooked up in the studio with an impressive group of his musical friends from throughout the northeast.

The result, his debut solo LP Just Keep Goin', showcases the broad range of his influences and abilities, from stripped-down, bare-all folk, to sincere-yet-undeniably catchy pop, to gritty, dirty punk. On these eight tracks, Daniels weaves a unique musical tapestry of the heart, soul and mind, and established himself as an important voice all on his own.

Hey Colleen 04:13
©2012 Collin Daniels Music ---LYRICS--- Got a new place, but it don’t feel like home Memories piled high, but I feel all alone Tonight I just can’t go back yet Stop by that bar and light a cigarette I go inside and look around Lookin’ for some pretty place to drown Order a drink, but it doesn’t help Won’t kill this feeling in myself My life is a mixture of glory and ruins And I don’t know what the hell I’m doin’ All I know is I can’t leave As long as you’re standing next to me Hey, Colleen, don’t go home And leave me standing here alone Just stay and smoke your cigarette We’ll talk ‘til we got nothing left I feel like I could never die Looking so deep into your eyes Let’s keep this night alive and free And not let it go, hey, Colleen An hour or two, I lose track Couple conversations in the back No point in stayin’, walk out the door Oh, what the hell, I’ll smoke one more Then it happens, then it starts Big lurchin’ feelin’ in my heart A misty voice asks for a light And for the first time I look in your eyes My life is a mixture of glory and ruins And I don’t know what the hell I’m doin’ All I know is I can’t leave As long as you’re standing next to me Hey, Colleen, don’t go home And leave me standing here alone Just stay and smoke your cigarette We’ll talk ‘til we got nothing left I feel like I could never die Looking so deep into your eyes Let’s keep this night alive and free And not let it go, hey, Colleen Hey, Colleen, hey, Colleen Hey, Colleen, hey, Colleen Hey, Colleen Hey, Colleen, don’t go home And leave me standing here alone Just stay and smoke your cigarette We’ll talk ‘til we got nothing left I feel like I could never die Looking so deep into your eyes Let’s keep this night alive and free And not let it go, hey, Colleen Hey, Colleen, hey, Colleen Hey, Colleen, hey, Colleen Hey, Colleen, hey, Colleen

The Door 04:28
©2012 Collin Daniels Music ---LYRICS--- We were so close to just right A friendship real and true From the start something was off I ignored it because I liked you Always thought it would get better But it just kept on the same way The weeks and months, they ticked by Great friends who might be more someday There’s a door deep in your heart You’re not even sure where it is But I know it is locked up tight And no one can get in One day I found I was unhappy Finally had to bring it up Had a hope that you could face it then Take a leap for our love You just smiled and you told me You didn’t know what I was talkin’ about Right then my heart it broke open And years of pain spilled out There’s a door deep in your heart You’re not even sure where it is But I know it is locked up tight And no one can get in There’s days I miss you so much (I know you do) I can’t help but cry (I hate to see you cry) The sadness it just comes (I miss you too) Every time I wonder why (Baby, I’m sorry) Why, why, why (I don’t know why) Open that door deep in your heart Look until you find where it is Yeah open up that door So someone can get in God damn, that door deep in your heart You didn’t even know it was there I couldn’t get past that door ‘Cause you were so scared

Home of Love 04:01
©2012 Collin Daniels Music ---LYRICS--- When you crinkle your brow and Your lips curl up and Your eyes burn like a thousand stars You take my hand, I feel your blood flowing Like my love flows for you I waited so long and I worked so hard To become a man who can stand on his own Then you showed up at the perfect time And our two hearts made a home Cause we’re two spirits in love Walking side-by-side, separate but together Yes we’re two spirits in love, walking hand in hand Two people making one Home of love, home of love Home of love, home of love I wanted to write a song That didn’t use stereotypes Or the cliches that you find in the fairy tales But when you boil it all down And get to the essence There’s somethin in those stories That I think is true ‘Cause in this crazy world Happily ever after only lasts five minutes With most people you meet And I’m stayin’ in the moment So damn grateful for the present but If I got a long time with you That would be all right with me Because we’re two spirits in love Walking side-by-side, separate but together Yes we’re two spirits in love Walking hand in hand Two people making one Home of love, home of love Home of love, home of love And you have your own journey That I’m still learning about But I’m so glad we found each other So we can figure out Who we’re supposed to be It changes every day In the most wonderful, surprising way We are slowly building, we are gently building We are carefully building Our passion together is building A home of love, home of love Home of love, home of love Home of love, home of love Home of love, home of love

©2012 Collin Daniels Music ---LYRICS--- It’s a trap, well it’s a sham You’re in the cage then the door slams They’ll grab you then they’ll put you to sleep ‘Til you don’t make a peep Yeah it’s tough on the outside Yeah it’s easier to run and hide Yeah it’s easier to play along And sing that same old song You gotta get out Get out, hunt for any door You gotta break out Break out, search until you’re sore You’ll buy whatever they sell Do whatever they tell you You’ll kill who they tell you to kill Keep quiet when they tell you to be still But they are not your friends Trust me it’s a dead end Because on the line is control To see who owns your soul You gotta get out Get out, hunt for any door You gotta break out Break out, search until you’re sore You gotta get out Get out, hunt for any door You gotta break out Break out, search until you’re sore Yes I know that you might be scared (Don’t be scared) But you can get out of there (Get out of there) You can break out of that cage (Break that cage) Refuse the call that the liars made Yes I know that you might be scared But you can get out of there You can break out of that cage Refuse the call that the liars made You gotta get out Get out, hunt for any door You gotta break out Break out, search until you’re sore You gotta get out Get out, hunt for any door You gotta break out Break out, search until you’re sore ‘Til you’re sore, 'til you’re sore ‘Til you’re sore

3,000 Angels 04:17
©2012 Collin Daniels Music --- LYRICS --- What do you do when you wake up one day And the word you know ends right before your eyes Everything that made sense before Is gone away and you can’t even cry Can’t dig in the rubble or save a single soul Trapped in the sky or in the fire below The hole in my heart is too big to measure And this agony feels like it’ll live forever Three thousand angels born in an hour Dark clouds above the flames and paper rain Can’t figure it out, even though we were in it Didn’t know them at all but I think they’re a part of me A city creams and mourns its fallen pillars Sea of anger wants more blood to spill Well I’m not sure that’ll do all that much good, now What becomes of victims who are turned to kill Three thousand angels born in an hour Dark clouds above the flames and paper rain Can’t figure it out, even though we were in it Didn’t know them at all but I think they’re a part of me Don’t try to explain it all away Don’t tell me tomorrow will be a new day Some mysteries don’t have an answer why Like where the smoke goes when it leaves the sky Sit here and look into my eyes I don’t care anymore what’s the truth and what were lies I don’t need the man behind the podium today Just take my hand and tell me that you’ll stay with me, oh Stay with me Stay with me, oh Three thousand angels born in an hour Confusion rage and pain is all we feel Couldn’t figure it out, even though we were right there in it I didn’t know them at all, but now I see Now I see Now I see Now I see

Burning Sand 06:53
©2012 Collin Daniels Music --- LYRICS --- Years gone behind that cold hard fence Only way to make it all make sense Did it trap you way deep inside Was it protection or your lie It’s time It’s time Waves and beams crash sweetly before your eyes Splitting into pieces as your soul cries Fractures cut through this web of sin You will never be here again Rip pull bend the metal of your chains Gateway opens the last of your pain It’s time It’s time Waves and beams crash sweetly before your eyes Splitting into pieces as your soul cries Sand burning into seas Castle to the sky Glass melting into stone Your dream is your life Trip down the alley into the ashes Stifle the clocks to cushion the passage When the echo comes to find you Don’t forget what it reminds you It’s time It’s time Waves and beams crash sweetly before your eyes Splitting into pieces as your soul cries Sand burning into seas Castle to the sky Glass melting into stone Your dream is your life Your dream is your life Oh Oh yeah, oh Oh, oh, oh Hands will remember Fingers won’t let it slip Wiser than the mind They know where to grip They know, oh They know where to grip Build a new tower from the ruins of the old Lifted and reborn a new chapter to be told It’s time It’s time Waves and beams crash sweetly before your eyes Splitting into pieces as your soul cries Sand burning into seas Castle to the sky Glass melting into stone Your dream is your life Your dream is your life Your dream, rise Rise, rise, rise

Final Friend 04:43
©2012 Collin Daniels Music --- LYRICS --- You want to blow up the world You’ve got to have the perfect girl And dress her in your uniform Living safe behind your walls Making all the important calls And never questioning it I tried to help you But you didn’t want me to So I wash my hands of you and cry Cry, cry You’re different from the other boys You can play with all of their sharp toys And not get hurt at all But can’t you see where it ends You’re down to your final friend And standing on the cliff alone I tried to help you But you didn’t want me to So I wash my hands of you and cry Cry, cry, cry, cry Where will you go when there’s nothing left And all that remains of your nest Has been reduced to ash Well I’m not the smartest man alive But I saw you marching to the line And I told you not to cross it I tried to help you But you didn’t want me to So I wash my hands of you and cry, cry I tried to help you But you wouldn’t let me through So now I leave you to die Die, die Oh, oh, oh And it makes me cry Cry, cry, cry

©2012 Collin Daniels Music --- LYRICS --- Streetlight flashes and Heaven fades The lonely man has nothing to say The sun and the moon and stars above And endless chasm filled with love If the meaning of life is nothing at all What will catch me when I fall A lone wolf howls in the snowy night Something doesn’t feel quite right The flame a candle burning bright A thousand years that made my life If the meaning of life is nothing at all What will catch me when I fall If the meaning of life is nothing at all What will catch me when I fall Pain and sadness anger and rage A billion people locked in a cage The waterfall turns to ice But I can’t see it with my eyes If the meaning of life is nothing at all What will catch me when I fall If the meaning of life is nothing at all What will catch me when I fall What will catch me when I fall What will catch me when I fall What will catch me when I fall What will catch me when I fall When I fall
